Indra Ceramic
About Us
Founded in 1977, INDRA CERAMIC began as a small, traditional pottery business in Lampang. Guided by the vision of our founders, Mr. Suwit Napawan and Mrs. Pratueng Napawan, who brought nearly 48 years of experience to the industry, the company has since grown into a leading ceramic manufacturer and exporter with a strong global reputation.
In its early years, the company was known as "Indra Pottery" and specialized in producing terracotta planters, large jars, tiles, and refractory bricks using a traditional firewood Dragon Kiln.
Mr. Suwit Napawan's spirit of innovation led him to invent a new kiln using LPG as fuel. He went on to build and distribute nearly 200 of these kilns, transforming local production methods. This innovation also marked a turning point for the company, as we began to produce the traditional Thai blue and white home decorative items that we are now well-known for.
This text presents a clearer and more professional narrative. It's structured with headings to make it easy to read on a website and uses stronger language to highlight the company's growth and innovation.
In 1988, Indra was officially registered as a Company Limited, with Mr. Suwit's three sons taking the helm. Under their leadership, the company expanded its focus to meet the demands of the European market, beginning the production of tableware with vibrant, colorful hand-painted designs. This marked our entry into the global export market. Today, Indra Ceramic is recognized as a premier manufacturer of superb underglazed, hand-painted stoneware tableware in Thailand.
To bring our products directly to the public, we invested $2 million USD in 2005 to establish "Indra Outlet." Located on our factory grounds, it was the first and largest ceramic outlet of its kind in Northern Thailand. The store quickly became a hub for the local industry, showcasing products from over 30 other Lampang-based factories.
Building on this success, we opened a second branch in 2013, investing another $1.5 million USD into "Indra Outlet - Hangchat." Situated in Hangchat on the Lampang-Chiang Mai road, just 10 kilometers from Lampang town, this new location further cemented our retail presence. Today, the Indra Outlets are celebrated destinations, highly recommended for visitors looking to explore Lampang's rich ceramic heritage.
